The Raspberry pi 3 enables your printer to be connected to the internet. After a one time setup via Ethernet, the wireless capability of the pi 3 will allow you to access and control your printer via the web.
You have two options for software:
With the addition of a webcam you can monitor your printer via live video or screenshots and also take time lapse videos of your prints.
